Tuesday Afternoon Mosaics in my Studio

Dates: Starts January 9th for 6 weeks.

Time: 1 – 4 PM

Cost: $300 (Plus a materials fee of $25/sq foot)

Description:

Make a mosaic mirror, try your hand at pet portraiture, or create a beautiful mosaic to hang on your wall. This workshop is suitable for all levels.

You will learn basic mosaic techniques such as designing, cutting methods, proper adhesives, layout of tiles, and grouting. If  you are an experienced student, you can refine your skills by practicing, learning new techniques, and sharing with other students.

Class is limited to 6 participants. Missed classes must be made up prior to February 10th. All classes take place in my studio in East Rock, New Haven, CT.

Mexican Smati Intensive at Creative Arts Workshop

Dates: January 10th - 31st

Time: Wednesday Evenings 6:30 - 9:00 pm

Cost: $230 (Includes all materials)

This special workshop will focus on making a small mosaic wall hanging with Mexican Smalti, a handmade glass which comes in a wide variety of rich and vibrant colors. During the workshop, you will learn how to cut Smalti using nippers and hammer & hardie. You will use  the direct method with Wellbond glue to attach the Smalti to the backer board. Since the time is limited, you will make a mosaic approximately 8" square.

This class is open to both beginners and experienced mosaic artists.
