New Mosaic Classes in New Haven
Dates: Monday Evenings starting March 16th for 6 weeks
Time: 6:30 PM – 9 PM
OR
Dates: Tuesday Afternoons starting March 17th for 6 weeks
Time: 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Cost: $325 (plus $25/sq ft)
Description:
Make a mosaic mirror, try your hand at pet portraiture, or create a beautiful mosaic to hang on your wall. This workshop is suitable for all levels. You will learn basic mosaic techniques such as designing, cutting methods, proper adhesives, layout of tiles, and grouting. If you are an experienced student, you can refine your skills by practicing, learning new techniques, and sharing with other students. Class is limited to 6 participants. All classes take place in my studio in East Rock, New Haven, CT. A minimum of 3 people are required for the class to run.

Explorations in Abstract Mosaics at Snow Farm
Dates: August 16 - 21
Cost: $750 (Plus $60 Supplies)

Description:
Make an abstract mosaic in a supportive, inspiring, and creative environment. Using the direct method, you will begin with a simple line or shape using broken pottery, stones, or other materials. Students will explore how to “grow” your mosaic intuitively following andamento, or, the flow of tiles, using pattern, rhythm and movement. For those interested in creating a work based on a series, the opportunity exists to make several small mosaics which can then be incorporated into a larger piece. As a group, we will also create a few collaborative pieces which will allow us to have a mosaic conversation with one another. A variety of materials will be provided, including a good selection of Mexican Smalti, natural stone, glass tiles and broken pottery. Open to both beginners and experienced mosaic artists, this workshop will offer an opportunity to challenge yourself and explore the creative mind-space and the tactile delight of working in mosaic. All levels welcome.
*August 15th is the arrival day for this session. Workshop instruction starts on August 10th and ends August 21st.
